Apply for this role

Adventure Operations (AO) is a proudly Australian consumer goods company behind some of the country's most trusted outdoor names: OZtrail®, Companion®, Campfire®, Ozpig®, Jamec Pem®, Trade Flame® and MTB Direct®. Some of these brands go back more than 80 years. Since coming together as AO in 2018, they've paired that heritage with a real appetite for innovation across Outdoor, Leisure, Mountain Bike and Industrial.

They're now after an analytical, commercially sharp Online Trading Specialist to drive the performance of their e-commerce channel (focus on MTB Direct). You'd own day-to-day online trading, promotions and product performance, and you'd be the one spotting where conversion, revenue and customer experience can get better.

If you enjoy digging into the numbers and turning what you find into real sales results, read on.

What you'll own

  • Opportunities: Find trading opportunities and act on them to maximise online sales
  • Launches & promotions: Run product launches, promotions, markdowns and seasonal activity
  • Product presentation: Make sure every product is shown accurately online, from pricing and imagery to content and availability
  • Conversion: Review website performance and find ways to improve conversion and the customer experience
  • Market watch: Keep tabs on competitor activity and market trends
  • Reporting: Prepare regular trading reports and analyse performance by product, category, promotion and period
  • Insights: Track commercial metrics, spot trends and use the data to guide decisions and recommendations
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing and Digital teams to support campaigns and promotional activity

What you'll bring

  • Experience in e-commerce, online trading, digital merchandising or a related role
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Commercially minded and a solid understanding of sales, margin, stock and profitability
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
  • The ability to turn data into practical commercial action
  • Strong organisation and time management, with excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach and comfort in a fast-paced, changing environment

What's in it for you

  • Real ownership of online trading performance across a portfolio of iconic Aussie brands
  • A 9-day fortnight (after probation) and up to 2 days WFH per week
  • Ongoing training and development
  • A relaxed but high-performance culture
  • Product testing and the chance to join campouts at some spectacular locations
  • Staff, family and friends discounts across the whole range
  • Company-wide and team events
