Executive Assistant

Darra, QLDPermanentPosted 2026-06-23
Apply for this role
Desky and Alternative Brewing are fast-growing global e-commerce businesses with strong foundations and ambitious expansion plans.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support two Directors, working primarily alongside the Managing Director as his right hand.

This is not a traditional diary-management role.

This position sits at the centre of the business and requires someone who can operate with speed, judgement and autonomy. You will act as an extension of the Managing Director — ensuring projects progress, actions are captured and nothing falls through the cracks.

The Managing Director travels frequently across international markets, so you must be comfortable progressing work independently and keeping momentum while he is away.

You'll Love:
  • Working with a supportive and friendly team who enjoy the work & seeing results
  • Barista quality coffee provided as well as monthly Banh Mi Lunches
  • Free Parking
  • No corporate attire; this is a smart casual workplace
  • Working from Desky's signature sit-stand desks, and you can mix it up with a fit ball, balance board or walking pad if you're keen to get your steps up.

The Role
You will operate across multiple brands and departments, maintaining visibility, accountability and forward motion.

While the role supports both Directors, approximately 90% of your time will be aligned to the Managing Director, with additional support provided to the second Director as required.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Calendar Management
  • Coordinating frequent international travel (experience leveraging points and loyalty programs is highly regarded).
  • Managing busy inboxes and extracting actions, follow-ups and priorities.
  • Preparing meeting agendas, attending meetings, capturing minutes and tracking actions through to completion.
  • Maintaining oversight of multiple concurrent projects using monday.com.
  • Following up stakeholders and ensuring commitments are delivered.
  • Acting as the Managing Director's eyes and ears when required.
  • Creating structure and clarity in a fast-moving environment.
  • Protecting pace.
This role requires someone who sees around corners and closes loops without being prompted.

Working Style & Environment

The Managing Director operates at pace, communicates directly and works best with clarity and follow-through.

The right candidate will:
  • Be comfortable with concise, outcome-focused communication.
  • Require minimal context to take action.
  • Interpret priorities and fill in gaps confidently.
  • Thrive in high-standard environments.
  • Remain calm and steady under pressure.
  • Not take direct communication personally.
  • Progress work without waiting for instruction.

This is a high-trust role in a business that values speed, ownership and accountability.

If you prefer highly structured step-by-step direction or frequent reassurance, this may not be the right environment.

About You

You are commercially aware, organised and confident operating with autonomy.

You:
  • Get up to speed quickly.
  • Think ahead and anticipate what's needed.
  • Naturally capture actions and close loops.
  • Are comfortable holding senior people to account.
  • Move fast without sacrificing detail.
  • Maintain discretion at all times.
  • Are highly proficient in Mac, Gmail and Google Workspace.
  • Have strong working knowledge of monday.com (or can become highly competent very quickly).

You understand how to support founder-style Directors in a growing, entrepreneurial business.
